Mission: The connecticut center for nonviolence (ctcn) is a leader in nonviolence education. We are dedicated to bringing people from diverse communities together in dialogue and creative expression to explore the root causes of violence and to learn constructive methods of developing and applying alternative solutions.
Programs: Thinking youth nonviolence leadership. Provided arts-infused kingian nonviolence conflict reconciliation training for high school students in hartford and new haven. Funded by perrin family foundation and blue hills civic association.
level 1 kingian nonviolence certifications. This 80-hour train-the-trainer framework develops leadership and life skills in nonviolence conflict reconciliation, civic engagement and community organizing for social justice. Trained individuals from police department, clergy, civic leaders, educators and community members.
two day introduction to kingian nonviolence. This 16-hour seminar teaches the six principles of kingian nonviolence, as well as basic concepts, strategies and tools of conflict reconciliation. Funding from the hartford.
