This program is excellent and exceeds my expectations! It connects with young African American males at a critical time in ways the youth need most. My experience is positive, and I specifically appreciate the Pay for A's portion of the program, along with the summer camp and the illustrious celebratory event that gives the young men the opportunity to show what they learned throughout the year.
This is an organization that helps young men and men alike to be the best versions of themselves. When I was in the program I had the pleasure of learning how to be a great orator. The Men of the program trained me and encouraged me to speak with authority. I will be forever grateful.
I have served as a speaker, volunteer and Board Member of CCM since 1996 and it has been an enjoyable and rewarding journey. CCM has directly impacted the lives of over 40,000 boys and men and we continue to serve as Fathers to the Fatherless during these difficult times. After a pandemic-induced hiatus, this fall we plan to re-initiate our Man-Boy Breakfasts in our partner schools. We expect to have a full range of programs up and running this year, including our Annual John Everett Awards Celebration, honoring the top 40 boys in our program each year, and our Thompkins-Stimley Summer Camp next summer.
My story is about the man boy breakfast that we have any as a story in particular that comes to my mind we had our meeting for the man boy breakfast changed because of problems at the venue we usually have so we were on the west side of Chicago and so we have buses to pick up the Young men to come to the breakfast on the southside one young man was late getting to the bus stop when he arrive the bus was just going down the street it was so important to this young man to be at the breakfast until he ran behind the bus followed the bus on to the Dan Ryan Expressway he continue to run on the Dan Ryan Expressway a state trooper happen to see him pull him over and ask him why was he running on the Dan Ryan Expressway and he explained he was trying to get to the man boy breakfast the officer then placed him in his automobile and drove him to the man boy breakfast this is how important this breakfast is to these young man who we service please help us to continue
I joined this organization in 2007 and currently the Chairman. I am honored to help move the organization forward to reach the young men in our city and address the rampant shootings.
It is wonderful how they interact with the young men 4th thru 8th grade and are constantly updating content and accessibility
I've had the pleasure of working for this prestigious organization since 2013. They go above and beyond trying to become Father's to the fatherless. From free hot breakfast every month during the school year to 5 days and 4 nights of all expenses paid summer camp. Let's keep up the great work because the boys need us now more than ever!
This organization has been mentoring young Black men since 1996. The Concerned Christian Men have been teaching the principles of manhood, paying for A's , hosting a summer camp and most importantly exposing the young men to a God centered way of life. We have had an outstanding list of speakers from Senator Barrak Obama to football coach Lovie Smith come and address our boys on the keys to living a successful life. We have fed thousands of boys at our monthly Man/Boy Breakfast held on the third Saturday of every month during the school year. Even Covid-19 didn't stop our message as we converted the breakfast into a Zoom meeting format while the Pandemic was not allowing our in person events. Some have called the CCM "the best kept secret in the city." We start our 25th year in September and our Executive Director is a young man that started with our program when he was 7 years old. Help us to continue to help our young men by contributing to the Concerned Christian Men.
