Target demographics: West Michigan disadvantaged children with disabilities
Geographic areas served: West Michigan
Programs: Comprehensive Therapy Center's summer outreach program, Therapy and Fun, provides intensive therapy for children with disabilities. The majority of the children are economically disadvantaged or at-risk. Clients receive 3 hours of therapy 3 days a week for 7 weeks. Children are paired with a teenage mentor to practice their new skills each day. Parents attend weekly support meetings and receive much needed respite.Most of the children have State supported insurance and are victims of abuse/neglect or have genetic/developmental disorders. Since 1982, Therapy and Fun has served over 700 children with disabilities.
