Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Community Foundations, Philanthropy
Mission: The mission of the Community Foundation of Grundy County is to provide vision for Grundy County and the surrounding area in order to preserve and enhance our quality of life. The foundation will do this by: - providing "leadership" to identify important needs, concerns, and opportunities; - using our "grantmaking" to respond to those needs and affect change; - "partnering" with local not-for-profit organizations to strengthen their abilities to serve our citizens; and - partnering with donors to "receive and manage funds" that will support the community for generations to come.
Programs: Grants and programs for community recreation, cultural, and social programs for other not-for-profits. In 2017, the foundation made grants and scholarships (through its donors) to more than 70 receipients.
community works programs: services to the community, including community leadership programs for issues of concern to our citizens. During 2017, the foundation invested in at least 10 community works programs in the grundy county area.
donor services, including effective, local, and personal tools for charitable giving. As of december 31, 2017, the foundation maintained 60 donor-advised, endowment, and scholarship funds on behalf of its donors.
