Causes: Community Foundations, Philanthropy
Mission: The community foundation offers caring individuals an effective way to endow their community in a manner that is responsible, responsive, and lasting.
Programs: The foundation provides charitable grants and scholarships in broome, chenango, delaware, otsego, and tioga counties. See schedule i. In 2017, the foundation awarded 325 grants and 78 scholarships.
the foundation provides community education and involvement relating to the need for charitable giving and philanthropy, and methods available to facilitate charitable participation. During 2017, the foundation's events included a women's fund awareness breakfast, grantee education workshops in all five of our counties, and a 20th anniversary gala celebration. Other various presentations and workshops were done at rotaries, universities, schools, foundations, nonprofits and youth philanthropy groups.
