Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Children & Youth, Community Improvement & Capacity Building, Education, Youth Development

Mission: Our primary mission at Community Cyber Connections Project is to provide instructional classes that will teach the basic navigation of Window's operating systems and the Internet to the residents of La Alma/Lincoln Park and the Denver Metro area. Our computer lab is currently housed in a large HUD subsidized apartment complex. Almost all of our registered participants are either senior citizen, physically or mentally disabled, and socially or economically disadvantaged individuals. In our rapidly advancing technological society, many of these individuals endure a sense of isolation from mainstream society. Our mission is to offer an important needed resource where individuals can enhance communication, education and knowledge. We also offer a safe and convenient haven for individuals to conduct research, do homework, access social resources, and to engage in educational entertainment. We also allow for multi-generational interaction through the instructional use of computers and the Internet.

This was a wonderful project while it lasted. Unfortunately, the project was stolen from our neighborhood when the management of the building it was house in locked the public and the projects board of directors out of the computer lab effectively ending its intended purpose. After the 501 c 3 organization was administratively dissolved, all of the assets (furniture, office supplies, printers and computers) of the organization were donated to the Jared Polis Foundation (another 501 c 3 organization).
