Mission: The Community Center of Northern Westchester seeks to improve the well-being and self-sufficiency of neighbors in need in Northern Westchester by providing equitable access to food, clothing, programs, and other resources. We are committed to treating all with dignity and respect. We encourage broad involvement and participation by residents and organizations in the communities we serve.
Target demographics: families, individuals, seniors, children, immigrants, those with disabilities or who are homebound
Direct beneficiaries per year: 3,000 familes, 10,000 individuals, over 2,000 children
Geographic areas served: We serve all those in need in Northern Westchester
Programs: Choice food pantry - provides a week's worth of supplemental food to over 3,000 families in need monthly; a third of which are children, including those working below the poverty line, unemployed, disabled, seniors, homebound eldery and all others in need.
A clothing boutique -provides clothing, shoes and linens to over 10,000 individuals in need.
Educational classes and career support.
School Supplies program - provides supplies to almost 2,000 children in need.
Prom Program - provides formal wear for over 100 local high school seniors.
Share the Warmth Program - provides warm pajamas, hats, gloves and blankets to almost 2,000 children.
Holiday Foods Program - provides hams, turkeys, sugar, flour, tea, coffee and other additional holiday basics to families during November.
