Mission: Through programs, advocacy and collaboration, people are empowered to discover their potential and live as engaged citizens, free of stigma, within a thriving community.
Programs: Community support, employment and training - our family support center which served approximately 2,600 households provides basic needs assistance to low income woonsocket households and connects families to financial literacy and other programs to strengthen their financial condition, including food, utility, and prescription assistance. We offer a range of training programs to help people get back on the employment track. In addition to skills-building, we provide support to prepare job seekers for the work world, job placement assistance, and education supports. We provide clinical and support services for individuals and families with long-term needs associated with mental illness and substance abuse. Our goal is to help people live as independently and as fully integrated within the community as possible.
housing - we offer a range of housing stabilization and residential programs to address the emergency, transitional and permanent supportive housing needs of individuals and families. Several of our programs offer support to people with mental health and/or substance use concerns. The agape center is a resource center for persons living with or affected by hiv/aids. Agape is a safe, confidential setting where people living with aids are treated with dignity and respect.
child welfare and family services - encompasses a broad array of services and programs including the family care community partnership network, family preservation, intensive family preservation, youth diversion, parent training, treatment foster care and aftercare services as well as many others. At our alternative schools, we address the social, emotional and behavioral needs of students experiencing trouble learning in traditional classrooms. Our licensed and accredited schools maintain supportive, flexible environments. Referrals from leas are accepted throughout the year. The goal is to support and strengthen children and families.
acute services - emergency services is for the person who is having a psychiatric and/or substance use emergency. Crisis and stabilization services are available for all ages, from children to elders. Examples of emergencies are someone who is depressed and having suicidal thoughts, someone hearing voices, or someone who has overdosed. Our acute stabilization unit provides short-term, residential services for the person who is having a mental health and/or substance abuse emergency, but who does not need hospitalization. Referrals are made through our emergency services team, hospitals and other sources. Treatment for substance use disorder education, support and resources toward long-term recovery are provided with a holistic approach by licensed addiction specialists in an outpatient setting. Partial hospitalization program (php)- our new rise to recovery php program helps individuals and family members recover from the negative consequences and life issues associated with substance use and addiction.
