Mission: To provide free accounting and financial counseling to economically disadvantaged businesses, individuals, and not-for-profit organizations. Educational programs are also provided in connecticut free of charge to further development and economic well-being of small businesses, individuals, and not-for-profit organizations.
Programs: Business and financial education, counseling, assistance with accounting systems, financials management and tax return preparation for individuals, small businesses and small not-for-profit organizations. Caas volunteer cpas served 51 direct service clients for a total of 349 contact hours. They participated in tax clinics in four locations of organizations that partner with caas, involving 71 hours of volunteer time, plus unknown numbers of hours while serving vita clinics in hartford and new haven. Caas volunteer instructors taught five courses including 20 sessions and 160 total attendees involving 60 hours of instruction on business start up issues and requirements along with 13 courses including 53 sessions having a total of 196 attendees on business financials and taxes. The total number of instruction hours was 182 for a grand toal of 662 hours of direct contact hours.
