Mission: Command Performance, Inc. was established in 2000 by Danbury area residents. We are unique when compared to other local organizations because we are promoting highly professional classical and jazz music and dance in the Danbury region.
We presented the Empire Brass Quintet in Danbury, on Sept. 23, 2000. They have a reputation as North America's finest brass ensemble that performs the classics interspersed with jazz melodies. They also delight audiences by teaching and communicating the type of music and instrumentation being performed. In 2001 we presented the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars featuring Jon Faddis and the Tito Puente Orchestra with Dave Valentin. In 2002 we presented the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Jazz Flutist Sherry Winston, the Tokyo String Quartet and Jazz Legend Diane Schuur. The 2003 Season we presented the Canadian Brass, an encore performance from Jazz Flutist Sherry Winston, Jazz Singer Dee Dee Bridgewater and Jazz Trumpet player Arturo Sandoval. As presenters of first class classical and jazz performers we too have high standards as well while maintaining reasonable cost levels.
The secondary purpose is to promote classical and jazz music and dance to the students in the greater Danbury area. Starting in 2003 Command Performance started offering master classes to junior/senior high schools in the greater Danbury area.
