Mission: Enhance economic prosperity in the columbia corridor. To be the voice and resource for business in the columbia corridor.
Programs: Freight improvements - approval of two new local improvement districts (lids) and enhancement of four other lids. Development of a rail overcrossing project and two new traffic signals on marine drive. Public education regarding the 5 billion state transportation package. Epa superfund - organized a meeting between business leaders and epa region x officials regarding the portland harbor superfund record of decision. Continued on schedule o transit - worked with trimet to create new bus routes to the columbia corridor. Industrial and brownfield redevelopment - participated in the brownfield coalition to create incentives for cleanups. Worked with epa to find ways to cleanup uplands near the portland harbor. Epa clean diesel grant - received a 570,000 epa grant to fund diesel truck replacements and loading bay electrification. All designed to improve air quality in the portland metro area. Levee re-accreditation - as a member of levee ready columbia, oversaw evaluation of 45 miles of levee and began development of a long range plan for re-accreditation by the army corps of engineers and fema. Business education and networking - hosted nine forums and one social event for business education and networking. Staffed four resourcefull use workshops to help find a use for business waste streams. Organized and led four workshops on the groundwater protection program.
