Programs: The golden gate senior center (ggsc) provides a variety of programs, classes, hot lunches, food pantry, employment assistance and resources for seniors and caregivers, right in the heart of golden gate city, located in the former golden gate library at 4898 coronado parkway, naples. The center is open from 9am until 5pm monday through friday. English, spanish and creole are spoken by members, participants and staff. The center now has over 1,300 members who enjoy and participate in over 100 programs and classes, at no charge to the senior.

To address this issue, collier senior resources hosts a virtual resource directory/website that aggregates accurate, up-to-date, comprehensive information accessible 24/7 anywhere via the internet. Collier senior resources website provides online access to resources and services needed by seniors and caregivers in collier county. In addition, the ggsc offers a social service component including information and referral as well as a new direct assistance program (launched in jan. 2018) to assist needy seniors with financial assistance up to $300/year/senior for medications, utility bills, eyeglasses, gas cards, etc.
leadership coalition on aging (lca) serves as the program advisory committee to collier senior resources. The lca includes hospitals, hospices, in-home care providers, specialized services for seniors, county, state and federal agencies, law enforcement, faith-based communities, civic organizations and advocates for seniors. The leadership coalition on aging hosted the 5th annual collier county conference on aging, "inform, inspire, innovate" on nov. 8, 2017, at hodges university. The event held workshops and general sessions featuring local experts for professionals working with collier county's senior population. The conference had 100 attendees and recognized leaders within the community for the contributions made in advancing practices within the field of senior services. Additionally, lca hosted three 'empowerment series' during 2017 bringing valuable information and speakers to address the questions and needs of seniors who are the target audience.
