Programs: Scholarship and college programsgoals: remove financial barriers, increase retention and graduationcsf-dc's advising, mentoring and academic supports continue as students transition to college. Csf-dc staff provides case management advising for each scholar throughout their college career. Csf-dc offers services and supports for students transitioning from community colleges to four-year colleges including advising, admissions, financial aid, major academic readiness and relocation. Csf-dc reduces financial barriers low-income students face by awarding need-based scholarships.
college advising & mentoring programsgoal: produce college-ready high school graduatescsf-dc provides early career and college awareness beginning in 7th grade. Throughout middle school and high school, csf-dc's college preparatory advisors (cpas) provide proactive academic advising, college planning information, grade monitoring and referrals for additional interventions for students in its programs. Csf-dc's recruited mentors serve as supportive adult role models and assist with financial aid planning and education. Csf-dc also provides summer academic enrichment programming through residential college experiences that introduce students to college environments and offer workshops on the financial aid process, academic planning, mentoring, and social and networking skill development.
