Mission: CAA seeks to promote and advance economic, community and family development in the District of Columbia and other at-risk communities throughout the region, nation and world. The community-based organization works to create innovative models, develop resources and connect existing, proven efforts, which can be replicated to meet needs of at-risk and under-served communities in areas of affordable housing, economic growth, and indvidual and group empowerment.
Programs: CAA's work includes: -Implementing a program of training, service, outreach and advocacy around homeownership, affordable housing, grassroots empowerment and related issues (Urban Housing Alliance Project) -Identifying, developing and advancing legislative, administrative and community policies and strategies that benefit at-risk residents and small businesses -Collaborating with other organizations to improve service delivery and coordinated housing advocacy -Developing employment training, work experience and increased employability for at risk young adults, ages 19 ? 27 (Urban Development Specialists Training Program) Developing strategies to help community-serving businesses survive in new, competitive environments.
