Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health Disorders
Mission: Co-occuring disorders institute is a family focused agency that provides compassionate care to our local community. Codi's services are based out of our offices in palmer, alaska. Their mission is healthier families, stronger kids, and a continuum of services that can support families in need.
Programs: Behavioral health clinic: provides services for children ages 3-21 and their families by offering behavioral health support services to the community, such as behavioral health assessments, therapy, case management, and treatment planning.
parenting with love and limits: provides evidenced-based family skills training programs. Providers help to reduce problem behaviors and substance abuse in children, improve school performance and strengthen family bonds by facilitating family and group sessions.
strengthening families: codi staff works with advisors in schools to recruit and train peer educators. Peer educators work with appropriate school staff to identify and schedule classes to teach the program curriculum. The program goal is to increase teen knowledge of non-marital pregnancy and subsequent pregnancy prevention strategies, as well as, hiv/std prevention.
