Mission: The climate reality action fund (action fund) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that directly influences the passage of key local, state and federal climate and energy legislation and policies that are critical to solving our most urgent climate problems, by utilizing targeted legislative campaigns, issue advocacy, and grassroots organizing. The action fund represents the powerful and combined voices of the millions of americans who stand behind our call for bold action on climate change.
Programs: The 2016 election cycle was critically important for climate change, and the climate reality action fund, focused its efforts on supporting pro-climate candidates like hillary clinton, defeating an anti-solar ballot initiative, and further supporting general climate change initiatives. With limited resources, the organization was still able to have a powerful impact in the key state of florida. Florida's amendment #1 was constitutional amendment to forbid the third-party sale of solar electricity to power customers. The action fund mobilized student volunteers and organizers to gather pledge signatures supporting the 'no on 1' campaign via phone, on-campus student engagement and knocking on doors. The action fund also promoted voter turnout and campaign events with hilary clinton and al gore in florida as well as colorado.
