Mission: The organizations mission is to encourage christians in the visual arts to develop their particular callings to the highest possible professional level, to learn how to deal with specific problems in the field without compromising either faith or standards or artistic endeavor, to provide opportunities for sharing work and ideas, to foster intelligent understaning, a spirit of trust, and a cooperative relationship between those in the arts.
Programs: To provide a forum of christian arts professional from north america for the purpose of exploring issues in contemporary visual arts and their ongoing relationship to christian belief and practice. Civa's conference programs provide significant opportunity for personal and professional networking as well as training in the art practices and non-profit leadership as they relate to art and faith.
tp sponsor a variety of traveling exhibitions representing work by members of civa for rental to musuems, galleries, colleges, churches and institutions.
to generate publications that present contemporary and relevant issues of interest to the arts, the church and society. Individuals, institutional members, and others receive these resources which inspire faith in the broader spectrum of art.
