Hi, this is Sarah Wilkinson. Just an update on how CWACC is reaching out to people and animals and getting things done. As of our last spay/neuter transport in January 2019, we have helped over 2400 pets to be spayed/neutered. We also have helped the Clay County Animal shelter to place a few pets through our adoption event every 4th Saturday at the Pet Smart in Oxford, AL. Most recently, Atlas and Chevy were adopted by loving families. Just letting everyone know a little about how things are going.
Proud to be a volunteer!

My name is Sarah Wilkinson. I would like to take a moment and let everyone know how CWACC is progressing.
In June of 2018, CWACC took over the monthly Pet Smart adoption day event for our local animal shelter, Clay County Animal Shelter. Now, every 4th and 5th Saturdays we are on the scene at the Oxford, AL Pet Smart location to present some special dogs and cats for adoption. Our local shelter has trouble getting the animals out of the shelter but the demand on them to take in new animals is great. It is our goal to help, in any way possible, to move the animals into good homes. I, myself, had a foster dog who was adopted by a great family on his third appearance at the event.
I would like to thank the other two ladies, Marie Greeson and Robyn Smith, for all their hard work and behind the scenes action. This nonprofit is growing in many ways to better insure the welfare of animals in Clay County and beyond.

As a pet mom and as a volunteer, I have had the best experience with CWACC over the last 6 or 7 years. I have had nine pets spayed/neutered through Alabama Spay/Neuter Clinic with the help of CWACC. That means that I have saved over $800 from what it would have cost me at the Vet's office. There were times that I was unable to pay for all of the cost, even though it was far reduced, and CWACC helped me by paying part of the cost.
As a volunteer, CWACC has helped me grow in my knowledge of the benefits of spaying and neutering pets. I had no idea that two cats/dogs could make so many babies per year. I have learned to see the love that people have for the animals in their lives and know that no matter what level of income a person has, it is important to get their pets fixed. Some people contact our organization because they have no other means of getting their pets fixed while others contact CWACC to take advantage of the low costs. Donations to CWACC not only help offset the cost of spay/neuter surgery, we also have a fund called the "Good Samaritan" fund. We have helped countless animals who tragically fell ill or were hurt and needed immediate care from a Vet that people were unable to pay for either in part or in full.
As a person, CWACC has helped me understand that every pet deserves a chance to thrive and spay/neuter assistance helps provide that chance. I love the time I spend volunteering. Meeting people and pets from all walks of life makes my life full.

I love the fact that we have this service in Clay county. I have had cats and dogs spayed/neutered with help through this program and every time it has been a good experience. I have also toured the facility where the surgery is done (Alabama Spay/Neuter) it's so clean, organized ,and the staff is great. If you have a pet I encourage you to use this service, it saves money and your pet will be in good hands.
