CABVI also provides employment opportunities through our Social Enterprises. Since 1911, CABVI’s blind and visually impaired employees have been producing top-quality goods in a light industrial manufacturing setting. We continue this tradition in our Industries Program today, offering our employees opportunities to learn job skills and receive on-the-job training to help them achieve a fulfilling career and greater independence. The products we manufacture are sold to the Federal and State Governments, as well as the commercial market. CABVI is a member agency of the National Industries for the Blind, who helps to implement the AbilityOne Program. Under this program, 89 non-profit blindness agencies in the U.S. provide mission-critical products to the Federal Government. CABVI also sells through Ohio’s Community Rehabilitation Program.
CABVI has over 16 years of experience in the office supply industry. From launching our first office supply business at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 2001 to the launch of VIE-Ability in 2013, we are proud to provide the highest level of customer support and products to both our Federal and Commercial customers.
CABVI provides employment for people with vision loss in Contract Management Support (CMS) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and at the Marine Headquarters in Quantico, VA. Our CMS employees use advanced screen-reading software, closed-circuit TVs (CCTV) and ZoomText technology to ensure government contracts are completed correctly and on time. This training and work experience has opened up many new opportunities for these employees to advance their careers within the Federal and State Governments.
