A truly well run and well thought out project. The level of ownership that the locals have in the water projects ensures that this non profit will stand the test of time and enrich the lives of the local population long after the volunteers are back in their home countries. This is made possible by the realization that Rip and Lynn have in their fundamental principal of local participation and ownership, and is the only way to truly realize success.

Lynn and Rip are two of the most amazing, unselfish people I have ever known in my life. Their desire to provide fresh water and support for these villages is unstoppable! They are keeping their sons memory alive by sharing their love, smiles, hugs, and tears with those who are in need! To see a child with a smile on their face or playing with a toy and laughing uncontrollably warms ones heart and to provide fresh healthy water for them to enjoy along with these smiles and laughter makes each day worth fighting for. Absolutely LOVE everything Lynn and Rip have and will be accomplishing through this organization!

Working with the Christopher Robert Project in the remote villages of northern Thailand has been the best experience of my life! I learned that Thailand's hill tribes earn less than $1 a day, which obviously places safe water out of reach for most village residents. I have seen empty water bottles and buckets littered around village homes in a constant effort to attain safe water. It's encouraging to know that villages are still happy with their filtered water after one year. I have seen both children and adults learn about safe water from CR Project Water and Sanitation Hygiene educators in the field. This small organization has quietly supplied their uniquely designed BSF units to villages with dire need. This organization will no doubt benefit from the help of volunteers, engineers, trusted advisors and university interns that will assist in placing even more filters in the coming year.

Comments ( 1 )

profile

thecrproject 09/25/2017

The buckets were there to carry ground water to the home daily and "littered about" is a fair statement. The buckets and containers used to sit uncovered, until needed. The CR Project's Jungle Water initiative has now eliminated the need for such containers as our CR BSF recipients now have point-of-use access to safe water right in their own home.

Not just a "flyover" charity (those that drop unnecessary supplies and leave), The Christopher Robert Project has a long-term approach to supporting their clients. Taking the time to understand the culture, and understand their needs, The CRP addresses important issues, with sustainable solutions. As a donor, I was kept informed of the progress on the water purification project, and am confident that the funds I donated were put to good use. As an engineer, I was also impressed with the clever, efficient and easily sustainable solution deployed by The CRP. It is without reservation that I can recommend The Christopher Robert Project as an efficient and effective non-profit organization.
