Mission: To provide comprehensive early childhood educational programs for all families in the stamford area between six weeks and five years of age

Programs: School readiness serves 431 children from three to five years of age. These programs are funded by state and local grants a sliding scale fee set by the state and by funds raised by the agency. The students are from stamford ct and most are from families under the proverty level. The students are evaluated in various skill levels so the agency can prepare the students to enter the stamford school system.

the stamford head start program serves 223 children ages from three to five and 60 infanttoddlers in the early head start program for the stamford area. All of the families in the head start program are the poorest families in the area and do not pay for the services. Over 90 percent of the students are minorities and speak several different languages as the agency prepares them to enter the stamford school system.

This program is funded through federal and state contracts and there is a sliding scale set by the state for families to pay a portion of the monthly fee over 90 of the families are below the 75 poverty line for the state.
