Mission: We protect childhood by providing a family environment for children through direct care, strengthening families, building up communities, and advocating for children's rights in Guatemala, India, Moldova, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.
Programs: Moldova: the foster care and transitional care programs implemented in the republic of moldova represent a continuum of care for orphaned, abandoned and institutionalized children and youth, aged 0 to 21. Services include foster family screening and training, child placement, case management, counseling, circles of support, academic stipends, life skills training, emergency aid and vocational and academic support (see schedule o).
romania: ceri partners with providence foundation to serve economically disadvantaged roma girls and women living in the ferenatri suburb of bucharest, romania, through a womens economic and educational empowerment program (weee). Roma are an ethnic group that has historically suffered from ethnic discrimination, marginalization and lack of educational opportunities. Cultural bias and gender norms limit even further the liberties and possibilities of roma women and girls (see schedule o).
mission trips: each december, ceri national staff and u. S. Volunteers distribute new winter boots and dry socks, along with hand-knit caps, scarves and gloves to children in eastern europe who are impoverished. Ceri's kids 'n boots mission strives to prevent children from developing frostbite that is, unfortunately, all too common to harsh eastern european winters. Every orphan identified for this mission is personally fit with a new pair of warm winter boots and dry socks by u. S. Team members.
