Mission: The Child Crisis Center of El Paso was established in 1980 as the first crisis nursery in the state of Texas. The Child Crisis Center of El Paso (CCCEP) protects children ages newborn through thirteen years from abuse and neglect by providing emergency shelter, family support services, and family education and prevention services. Our Emergency Shelter services are essential in keeping children safe and secure while opening up a doorway to address the underlying issues that lead to child abuse and neglect. Critical case management (parenting classes, referrals to financial management classes and substance abuse programs, and a collaborative network of agencies and community resources) helps us to alleviate the immediate crisis situation while focusing on eliminating the cause of that situation.
Target demographics: Emergency Shelter: Low-income children between 0-13 years and their families in El Paso, Ft. Bliss, Southern New Mexico, and Far West Texas; No Kidding program: Teens between the ages 16-21 and middle and high school students in El Paso
