Mission: We advance a child care system that effectively serves all children and families. The child care system supports children's growth, development and educational advancement and creates positive economic impact for families and communities. Our work is strengthened by a national network of child care resource and referral agencies (ccr&rs) and diverse members and partners.
Programs: Fee assistance: ccaoa works with the u. S. Military services (army, navy, air force, and marine corps) to help those who serve in the military find and afford child care that suits their unique needs. Through several innovative civilian/military efforts between the services, ccaoa and child care resource and referral agencies (ccr&r) are building the quality and capacity of child care throughout the country. During the year, ccaoa served 30,656 children in military programs.
respite care: ccaoa administers a respite child care program for navy and air force families who have children with special needs. Ccaoa partners with 55 local child care resource and referral (ccr&r) and other community agencies throughout the united states. The local agencies recruit, train, background screen, mentor and monitor the caregivers who provide the respite child care to eligible service member families. During the year, ccaoa served almost 6,000 children in these programs.
militarychildcare. Com (mcc) help desk: mcc is a department of defense (dod) website that provides a single online gateway for military families seeking child care. It allows families to choose from a wide range of child care options, standardizes the placement process, and makes it easier for families to identify and request child care. Ccaoa operates and manages the mcc help desk's three divisions: family support, program support, and system support. Ccaoa's operation of the mcc help desk includes four key tasks: 1. Help desk support for families and programs (e. G. , phone, email, inquiry tracking), 2. Process development (e. G. , operating procedures, quality control processes, and training), 3. Data management, 4. Analysis and reporting. In addition, the mcc help desk supports the department of defense in managing the incoming communications for the central suitability office (cso) and assisting personnel having difficulties with the inspection management system (ims).
