Mission: The chesapeake tri-association, inc. (cta) was incorporated in maryland in 2012 for the purpose of facilitating the joint activities of the three (3) member associations. The member associations include: chesapeake water environment association, inc. , chesapeake section american water works association, inc. , and the water & waste operators association of maryland, delaware and the district of columbia. In pursuance of these purposes the corporation shall have the powers to carry on any business or other activity proper and consistent with maintaining tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3). Future joint activities of the three member associations may be added, but presently cta facilitates two annual events. Those events are known as the tri-association conference and the short course.
Programs: Tri-association conference - the annual conference and exhibition features exhibits and technical sessions devoted to formal presentation of papers in the water environment industry. The water environment industry encompasses the fields of water, wastewater, and stormwater and related issues. Categories of papers presented in the technical sessions include:asset managementcollection systemsregulatorystormwaterwater distributionwater treatmentbiosolids/residual treatmentplant o&msafetywastewater treatmentwater reuseutility management
short course conference - the short course is a week long training session designed to train environmental systems personnel and to advance the professional status of personnel engaged in management, design, construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems. The courses offered include: introduction to water, water 1 & 2, water 3 & 4, advanced water, distribution & collections, industrial waste, introduction to wastewater, intermediate wastewater, advanced waste liquids, advanced waste solids and superintendent training.
