CBSI is very suspicious, they do the bare minimum for their recreational league, but do everything for their competitive teams. The board members all have children on the competitive teams, and somehow they receive extra professional instruction and better uniforms and equipment. Plus they are very private about their numbers. They never share any of the financials or total "actual" numbers of those that have attended. They have strong-armed our village into some very poor deals, and act more like a mafia than a Non-Profit supporting the community. Last I heard they had a $100,000 sitting in their account. Why are they sitting on so much money, when the kids are receiving cheap t-shirts and have to buy the rest of their uniforms out of pocket?

Causes: Baseball & Softball, Sports
Mission: The mission of chatham baseball & softball inc. Is to provide recreational and competitive baseball and softball opportunities to the youth of the chatham, illinois area.
Programs: Providing competitive youth baseball and softball opportunities: the organization hosted five baseball tournaments which attracted over 175 teams from multiple age groups. Approximately 100 youths from the chatham area were able to participate against teams from other areas while remaining home and avoiding travel costs normally associated with competitive youth sports.
providing recreational baseball and softball opportunities: the organization operated recreational summer baseball and softball leagues for area youths in kindergarten through sixth grade. Approximately 550 youths from the chatham area participated in the league. Practices and games are run by volunteers and operate from april through july.
improving baseball and softball facilities: the organization completed installing artificial turf in all batting cages at south park and water tower park in chatham. The organization also replaced the dugouts on diamond #1 at chatham community park. All recreational league games and hosted competitive games are played on these fields which are owned by the village of chatham.
