Mission: Charlotte Center City Partners (CCCP) facilitates and promotes the economic and cultural development of the urban core.
Programs: Projects and services:cccp includes planning and development, economic and retail recruitment/retention, marketing, communications, south end and uptown neighborhood constituent services and operations under this area. Our state of the center city report and event brings brokers the information they need to market the urban core to employers and site selectors. We have launched a robust retail initiative in both uptown and south end. Cccp has been working on the n. Tryon vision plan with our funding partners. The marketing brand "find your center" is a call to action to galvanize center city stakeholders and key audiences. The main communications channel for find your center is the website, electronic newsletter and partner campaigns. Other ongoing programs include management of the tryon street vendor program and permitting of special event and banner placement. Cccp also has a management agreement with the 7th street public market to provide functional support and strategic planning regarding the market's programming, tenanting, fundraising, pr, marketing and finance. South end continues to flourish with residential and office development and hosts the wildly popular food truck friday. One of cccp's core missions is to work with center city and historic south end neighborhood associations to enhance constituent services for center city residents through communication and advocacy. Cccp helps connect these organizations with each other by working with neighborhoods on initiatives including parks and open space, education, events, public safety, parking management and lighting. the gold rush shuttle:provides free shuttle service that connects attractions, office buildings, restaurants and cultural arts venues through the center city. The red gold rush buses are easy to spot and look like rubber wheeled vintage trolleys. The system encompasses more than 30 stops. It was originally created by bank of america as a private shuttle for associates in the late 1990's and operated by american charters. Cccp took over management of the shuttle shortly after and cats took over operations in 2001. This is a public/private venture, with center city partners responsible for raising the private sector portion of ongoing funding. The contract ran through june 2015. There is full expectation that the contract will continue in future years. Accomplishment: full funding accomplished
events and programming:develop and produce quality programming and events that create a vibrant urban core, while addressing the needs of stakeholders. We are shifting our focus from large events to more frequent street-level programming that activates and animates while connecting with the stakeholders of uptown and south end. Our programming is focused around major initiatives such as retail, n. Tryon street animation, south end and uptown neighborhood initiatives as well as holidays in the city and the center city vision awards. Cccp works with other event producers to be sure all events in the center city are of a high caliber; these include speed street, the novant health bicycle criterium, taste of the nation and hola charlotte. Accomplishment: annual event at romare bearden park (symphony in the park), successful shift from large events to street-scale programming.
