Changing leads equine rescue is the absolute best. I love volunteering for them. The time and effort they put in to caring for these horses is amazing!
We were thinking about boarding horses. We decided to find a place to volunteer so we could make sure we knew what we were getting into. I’m so glad God lead us to Changing Leads Equine Rescue. The extra time they put in to help volunteers learn how to care for these horses is what sets them apart to me. Each horse has a different story and different needs. Through their attention to detail and dedication I have seen many rescues achieve giant strides in their health. It is remarkable what a strict care regiment and lots of love can do. I have been volunteering for nearly 4 years and it is been such a blessing. This organization has become family and I don’t know what I would do without them. They have changed my life. The feeling you get from spending time with them and seeing the positive results of your efforts is very rewarding. I have learned so much in a short time such as, General care, specifics to watch out for with certain breeds, medical care and training. I would recommend them as a place to volunteer, a place to find a good horse and a place to learn and educate yourself on the care and work that goes into owning. Changing Leads Equine Rescue is just an overall blessing.
Changing Leads is a wonderful rescue. As a volunteer and adopter here for over six years, I have had nothing but great experiences. They focus on teaching volunteers how to care for and handle horses in a safe and caring manner.
The horses there receive the best vet care, even going so far as to do corrective surgery, cryptoid surgeries for a stud, among other things. Any quality of life decisions are made after discussion with their vets and the explanation is given to the public.
They have had a lame mare for over seven years, still waiting for her forever home, and have taken in horses with no hope for adoption. The horse I adopted suffered from a leg injury and arthritis from a previous owner and I adopted him as a companion only horse.
They are pleasant to work with and appreciate their volunteer only, No Paid Employees here! Work force. Their horses are worked with by their volunteer trainer.
Overall, there great for beginners to learn how to care for horses and for horses to have a great place to land between homes.
They share property with a boarding barn and several lesson students there have adopted from Changing Leads and boarded their horses there since it is convenient, which is perhaps where smoother reviewer is getting confused.
