Mission:
Change for Kids (CFK) believes every student deserves the quality education they need to thrive, and every school needs the proper resources to deliver it. We partner with underprivileged NYC public elementary schools to provide programming in four core areas currently: literacy, arts, healthy living and classroom support.
One school at a time, CFK rallies our community to provide a broad range of essential educational opportunities at under-resourced public elementary schools. By creating inspiring learning environments at our partner schools, CFK enables students to discover their unique strengths and develop the confidence to achieve.
Results: A great example of CFK’s impact is our South Bronx partner school, P.S. 73. Located in the country’s highest poverty rate congressional district, P.S. 73 transformed over the past three years from near-failing to an A-rated school. CFK provided an outstanding new principal with the resources his school needed (adding arts, music, tutoring, supplies and more).
Target demographics: low-income children attending public schools grades 1-5
Direct beneficiaries per year: 4,000 students
Geographic areas served: New York City Area
