the mini-chopper program is a manitowoc county wide effort to promote careers in manufacturing. It is made up of student teams from high schools in the area that work together to manufacture a mini-chopper motorcycle. Throughout the school year, the student teams gain real life experience in the manufacturing world by working hand-in-hand with a corporate sponsor in designing and fabricating the bike, as well as managing the budget, schedule, and overall project. The bikes are then judged using a composite score which includes: the design process, monthly updates, mid-year reporting, unveiling presentation and the finished project. Our mission is to assist students, parents, educators, and the community to understand that manufacturing provides excellent career opportunities, which will help create a skilled workforce to meet manufacturing needs today and in the future.
