I was honored to receive the Mary M. and Benjamin M. Rubin scholarship for women. It has helped me pay for college. There was a dinner and reception held for recipients. It was a fantastic evening at Baltimore.

I have been familiar with central scholarship for the past 4 years. They offer scholarships, grants and interest free loans to residents of the state of Maryland. They have provided me with multiple scholarships over the years that have helped me to achieve my educational goals. However, the thing that stands out about them to me the most is that during the COVID 19 pandemic they have been especially helpful. They have offered emergency funding for multiple things including medical bills, housing cost and other unexpected cost that have come up. If it were not for central scholarship I would be more focused on how to pay for school than on how to finish. They have been a light in my life.

This organization really cares about helping Maryland students afford college. They are very courteous and helpful when I contact them. I also appreciate the events they host to recognize scholarship recipients.

This is my second year being a recipient of the Digital Harbor High School award. I also received emergency funding from them and they provide amazing resources that I can always reach out to when necessary.

Central Scholarship has created an immense amount of support for me through my college journey. As a first-generation low-income college student, I have faced many obstacles in this process. I would not be here without them! With their generosity, I am able to afford all of my school materials, textbooks, and supplies. I will forever be grateful for their kindness.

Central Scholarship has supported my education throughout my undergraduate career and they continue to support me as a veterinary student. I’ve applied to countless scholarships and have struggled financially throughout my educational journey. Central Scholarship is one organization that I truly know cares about me and my success. They have personally reached out to me regarding opportunities for internships and shadowing. I have never experienced something like that from any other organization I’ve been involved with. I will always appreciate this organization for helping me during difficult times in my life.

In a time, when it was unusual, I was a single mom and sole support of two young children. In order to maintain my job as a public librarian, I needed to enroll both kids into a preschool, which provided transportation.This was neither easy nor inexpensive! Desperately, I applied to Central Scholarship for help. Throughout the interview process, the advisors were caring and supportive and located a nearby private, Jewish day school and provided both tuition aide and transportation for my son and daughter. This assistance continued until both children could attend public schools. I am forever grateful to Central Scholarship for their timely generosity.

Through unfortunate circumstances, my ex-daugher-in-law recently found herself in similar difficulties. Her marriage to my son ended and he relocated to Florida and was supporting a second family. Her two boys were bright and worked very hard to achieve academic success in school. Their mother struggled with a number of health issues and simply could not handle college tuition costs. Their father (my son) was unable to be of much help. Twenty-five years later, the boys' mom followed my exact path to the welcoming agency, Central Scholarship. Working with a most capable advisor, my grandsons were able to combine academic scholarships with financial assistance from Central Scholarship, and are now enrolled in their freshman year at American University and junior/senior years in Johns Hopkins pre-medical program.

Who says, "Lightening cannot strike twice?" Thank you Central Scholarship.

I serve on the Board of Central Scholarship and am continually impressed with the dogged determination the staff show in making sure to get through as many scholarship applications as possible so that deserving kids can have their needs met so that they can pursue higher education - truly awe-inspiring.

It is a great organization that provides wonderful service to its clients. Central Scholarships primarily focuses on assisting students from low-income or underserved communities access higher education with scholarships, free-interest student loans, and other financial assistance such as college financial and decision-making. The work of Central Scholarships is golden and its financial assistance to underprivileged students is priceless.

I am a volunteer who has reviewed applications from graduate students applying for scholarships awarded by this organization. The criteria is well defined and the process for applicants quite humane. This is an outstanding organization that has continued to grow, reach out to the community, and offer a much needed service.

Central Scholarship changed the course of my life. Without their support, I would not have been able to pursue or complete a college degree. That college degree has opened up pathways for me to advance my career in the field of higher education. Now, I work full-time at a University, supporting student programs focused on social impact and social change. Because of what Central Scholarship was able to do for me, I can now work to support other students in discovering their passion, their purpose, and ultimately, leading lives to contribute to our society in deep, meaningful ways.

I am a first-generation graduate from a low-income family. In high school, I worked evenings, weekends, and during the summer. Even though I had saved each paycheck, I still did not have enough to pay for my tuition, supplies, and housing in full. Central Scholarship's supports drastically decreased the loans I needed to withdraw, and, only a short 2 years out of school, I was debt free. Because of this, my lifestyle will be different. The work I pursue is different. My giving and service is different. Having the burden of debt, and the gift of a college degree, has allowed me to give back in my work and personal life. I hope one day to give back to Central Scholarship so that they can continue their mission and the wonderful work they do.

I am a professional who has volunteered with Central Scholarship for the past several years. It is an extremely well-run organization with a clear, well-articulated mission. Its scholarship application process is efficient and clearly presented for prospective recipients and their families. As a well-publicized nonprofit, Central Scholarship receives applications from a wide mix of deserving students at the undergraduate and graduate school levels. I would encourage students looking to further their education to check out their website, attend outreach sessions and/or confer with school counselors to see if applying to Central Scholarship could be option for them. There are interest-free loans and scholarships available as well as financial support for vocational training. I encourage students and their families to consider checking out Central Scholarship when looking for financial support to attend college and/or graduate school. Recognizing the high dividends of investing in promising students' education, they have created an accessible program that financially allows hundreds of students to focus and reach their ambitious academic goals. As a personal example, Central Scholarship has continuously been supporting my family of five as my wife and I both embark on and travel along our graduate and post-graduate education. We deeply feel that without the help of Central Scholarship, our professional development would have been much more difficult to attain. Central Scholarship is an organization run by wonderful people who made the decision to assist me more than once in my academic career. I received a scholarship award from Central Scholarship in 2012 after graduating high school and attending college as a first-generation student. The Central Scholarship team appreciated my story and genuinely believed in my ability to excel academically. After starting a family, I took some time off school, and eventually transferred to Towson University where I am now an accounting major and master's in accounting candidate. Again, the people at Central Scholarship trusted in my journey and awarded me two scholarships to finish school. As a single mother I am beyond grateful for the organization's support over the years, and I hope that it continues to help students achieve higher education.

Central Scholarship made a Master's of Social Work possible for me. Their scholarships are strategically targeted in the areas with the most need, to make the most impact on the Baltimore community. I appreciated not only the financial support but also professional network my scholarship provided, and as a result I am more than happy in my new career.

I first encountered Central Scholarship as a high school senior, looking for scholarships to help close my financial aid gap for my dream college. A high school counselor told me about Central Scholarship and their new scholarship for students at my high school. I applied and after going through a thoughtful interview process, I became first recipient of the Wagner Family Scholarship.

Not only did the scholarship help me meet the cost of attendance for my school, but it also provided me with people that cared about my success and my goals. The staff at Central Scholarship were invested in my success and often checked in with me to make sure that I was doing okay in school.

Seven years later, I was offered the privilege to serve on the board of Central Scholarship. I quickly learned that this organization deeply committed to its mission. Whether its through their advocacy efforts to fight against award displacement at schools in Maryland or through its efforts to help high school students and parents understand financial aid, Central Scholarship strives to empower students to achieve their educational dreams. The staff and board take our roles seriously, as evidenced by our lively meetings where we discuss the pressing issues facing our students and what we should be doing to address them.

I'm proud to be a member of the Central Scholarship family and I look forward to continuing to help them meet the educational needs of students in Maryland for years to come.

I'm so grateful to the Central Scholarship Foundation for supporting my Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Their scholarships and interest-free loans truly open the doors to people from different backgrounds and make it that EVERYONE can have access to higher education.

How much good Central Scholarship does by helping students who are struggling to pay for post-secondary education is remarkable. Central Scholarship has such a noble mission. They are there to help college students get through college. What I like about Central Scholarship is that they believe in financial support at all levels of education. Many organizations will stop at high school seniors or college freshman, but Central Scholarship understands that as you rise in education level, funds are harder to come by. Sometimes, you experience angels in your life. That would be the Central Scholarship Bureau for me. Because of Central Scholarship, I am able to pursue my dream of becoming a musician by attending an amazing music school in Boston. Being raised in a single-parent household where groceries trumped private music lessons, I taught myself how to play the guitar and piano. When I was accepted into music school, Central Scholarship was a driving force in helping me actually attend the school. Someday, someway, I know I will be able to return the favor and help other needy students. For now, I daily thank Central Scholarship for all of their support and guidance. I honestly don't know where I would be without Central Scholarship today. I am currently a senior in college, and they have been there for me since my freshman year. They have granted me scholarships and loans year after year. Central Scholarship has been so welcoming and generous to me. They hold annual events for the recipients of the scholarships, and work very hard to get to know all of them. I could never say "thank you" enough to all of the staff at Central Scholarship for all they have done to help me.

Money has always been one of my worries going into college. I did not want college expenses to be a burden to my parents or to myself. A college experience should be about getting an education, gaining new experiences, and meeting unique people. However, we can not ignore the dollar signs that linger in our student billing account. Last year, I received a scholarship from Central Scholarship. I will never forget my parents proud faces as I walked up to the front to receive my award. This organization lifted my spirits up and helped me realize that I could not let anything get in the way of achieving my goals and ambitions that will lead to a successful future.

Central Scholarhip is a wonderful organization and I am happy to have found them! As a first generation college student and as the second oldest of seven children, I have had to pave my own path and pay my own way through college from the start. Central Scholarship is an amazing organization! Going into graduate school, there was a very limited number of scholarship programs that I could apply to. CSB was one, and I have not regretted it! Between a scholarship and an interest free student loan, CSB has been really helpful in covering my education costs. It is well worth it to apply!

I am grateful for the financial support and encouragement of the staff and donors affiliated with Central Scholarship. I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, studying health economics and policy, with a particular focus on Medicaid. While there is considerable interest in -- and need for -- rigorous health policy research, it is difficult for students to obtain funding for independent projects, including dissertation research. Central Scholarship's financial support has allowed me to dedicate time to completing my PhD dissertation and to disseminate my findings to researchers and policymakers.

As a side note, I could not be more pleased to have worked with the staff at Central Scholarship. From scheduling an interview as a candidate for this scholarship, to keeping in touch about my progress in my PhD program, this organization's staff really takes the time to make their beneficiaries feel part an extended family of individuals committed to higher education.

I am a MSW student and last year I saw myself juggling full-time grad program, internship and work. With finances tight, I knew that not working was not an option. With lots of sleepless nights to finish my school work, I felt that if I kept going at that rate, I may have to change my studies to part-time.

Thankfully, I came across Central Scholarship and was delighted to find out their mission in supporting students across the board. Thanks to a Central Scholarship grant, I was able to temporarily put work on hold to fully concentrate on am my full-time studies and complete my part-time internship without worrying too much about finances.

I applied for several scholarships through Central Scholarship last year. The staff were super friendly, always responding to my many questions and emails. They were understanding when I had issues with submitting my application as well. When I went in for an interview, I found staff to be friendly and enthusiastic about helping students. I attended an award ceremony and was thrilled to see so many fellow students who were also helped by Central Scholarship. I am very grateful for Central Scholarship for helping me get my master's degree. I am attending school at night and trying to support myself with a job during the day, but school is still incredibly expensive. Central Scholarship is helping me get through school with some extra support and I am so pleased to be honored by this organization.

Central scholarship is a great organization that provides scholarships to students at various educational levels. I received a scholarship to pursue my Master's degree and it has helped me to make the most of this degree. The staff are very helpful and the application process was very thorough (initial applications, finalist applications, interviews, etc.). They also held a scholarship recipient dinner where we were able to meet other scholars as well as our donors. This experience, and the application process in general, really made me feel confident that the staff had selected students who were the best fit for these scholarships.

Central scholarship has made it possible for me to currently be in my second year in college pursuing my degree in psychology and French. I attend McDaniel college it's a small suburban college in Westminster Maryland and it's private which means it's every expensive but it was my dream school. Receiving the Marjorie Cook Award from Central Scholarship was a life-changing experience. It not only helped me finance graduate school but gave me a sense of inspiration- I was honored to be recognized for my efforts in women's advocacy. Central Scholarship helped me really succeed at the University of Maryland and through their generosity I was able to graduate debt-free, making it possible for me to go to pharmacy school. I have received multiple scholarships from Central Scholarship over the years and they have always been so great to me. They offer multiple financial aid opportunities and really make sure they help out a vast amount of students, like myself, that are in need and/or have shown great merit. Central Scholarship has helped me to realize my dream of becoming a clinical social worker working with victims of complex trauma. This is a difficult field and financial opportunities are few and far between. By granting me an interest free loan, Central Scholarship allowed me to focus on my career path during and after graduate school without the constant worry of interest being added to my loan. This gave me the opportunity to take several unpaid and low paying opportunities at some of the best mental health facilities in the country, including Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sheppard Pratt. Where would I be without central scholarship? As a nursing student and a mom, I dedicate all my time to school and parenting. Unfortunately that means I cant work because nursing school is gruelling. That also means I cannot afford to pay for tuition. Central Scholarship granted me a much needed scholarship that covered about 50% of my tuition. This was a tremendous relief. Those who have to pay full tuition out of pocket or with loans will attest to the headache and anxiety that can result from not having money by the deadline. I am very greatful for this opportunity to attain my academic goals stress-free. This has inspired me. The aid the CSB has given me has literally changed the course of my life. I was always aware that paying for college would be a struggle, but it wasn't until the first financial aid package came back that it really hit me how hard it would be. I had big dreams of attending the University of Virginia as a Chemical Engineering student, but it was beginning to look like I would have to shoulder massive loans each and every year in order to continue my studies. That's where the CSB changed everything. Thanks to the generous Lessans Family Scholarship and the CSB interest-free loan, I have been able to attend the school of my dreams without having to fear a future of massive loan-debt repayment. I can go to school, focus on my studies and participate in a work study program. Challenging, but very doable with focus and commitment. Without the help and support of the CSB, I would either incur huge debt or have to take periodic breaks from my education to work full time to save the money to continue. Their belief in my ability to succeed and eventually "pay it forward" carries me through the tough challenges.

Central Scholarship is by far one of the most beneficial programs for individuals such as myself. I come from a minority background and programs like this are fundamental to my success. I am a second year law student and would not know where I would be without such a caring and compassionate program and more so employees. This has helped me achieve a milestone in my life.

I work full time and attend law school at night. Getting an interest free loan as a graduate student was wonderfully helpful. It is so difficult to find funding even as an outstanding student and I am very grateful for their program and their desire to give me a chance.

I don't know what I and my students would do if Central Scholarship did not exist! I rely on CSB to educate my first generation college-going students as far as becoming "informed consumers" about financial aid and scholarships. As the college counselor at a non-profit, I also have all my students apply to CSB for scholarships and no-interest loans; oftentimes those awards are the difference between my students being able to college or not. Even in instances where my students do not receive a scholarship or loan, they learn through the interview process with CSB that they must keep their grades up in college in order to be considered for future scholarships. We are truly blessed to have CSB in the state of Maryland, and I am thankful for both the existence of the organization and the people who work there who are always helpful, encouraging, and positive.

Thanks to Central Scholarship Bureau, I was able to go back to school and get my degree in Elementary Education. Now I work as an elementary art teacher in a Title 1 school, and I LOVE my job. I received a scholarship from CSB and interest free student loans. All of these forms of financial assistance enabled me to become a certified English teacher at a time in which pursuing an education seemed like an impractical (if not impossible) goal. Throughout my time in college, I balanced my school workload with the rewarding but difficult burden of raising a small child. The loans I received from CSB paid for my son's childcare. Without that kind of assistance, I would not have been able to go to school and graduate magna cum laude this past summer.
