Mission: The central jersey housing resource center (cjhrc), formerly known as somerset county council on affordable housing (sccoah), is a non-profit alliance of representatives from corporate and financial institutions, the real estate and development communities, social service providers, government leaders and housing advocates, working locally to resolve issues facing households who are struggling to find housing that meets their needs and means.
Programs: Acts as administrative agent for units in 5 new jersey municipalities equating to being responsible for administering the mandated affordability controls of approximately 1,000 units of affordable housing (restricted units). Restricted units are limited to very low, low- and moderate-income households (those earning less than 80% of median income).
the central jersey housing resource center (cjhrc) is a hud-certified, full service counseling agency providing pre-purchase, post-purchase, rental, homeless and delinquency/foreclosure counseling. The agency and its staff are known as leaders in providing housing information, counseling and referral services to meet the needs of very low-, low- and moderate-income people hoping to attain affordable housing or to overcome their housing obstacles. They provide outreach programs and services that result in assisting more than 1,500 clients a year.
