Mission: The organization's primary exempt purpose is to promote the maintenance, restoration, and enhancement of water quality and the biological integrity of waterways located throughout the central coast of california.
Programs: Monitoring:ccwqp monitored water quality at 50 sites in the central coast area of california to assess the impacts of agriculture on water runoff. Sites were sampled monthly for multiple constituents. Lab analysis was conducted on water samples to determine the type of possible impairment and toxicity. Ccwqp continued to assist growers with on-farm sampling.
outreach, education and water quality reports:ccwqp held meetings or participated in meetings with farmers in the region. Meetings were held in santa cruz, monterey and san luis obispo counties. Education materials were designed to provide farmers with information relevant to their sub-watershed. Numerous water quality reports and presentations were prepared and delivered to public and government agencies.
