Causes: Health, Public Health
Mission: To educate the public and medical practitioners about alternative medicine and natural medicine, conducting research about those topics and making grants to other tax-exempt organizations in support of these purposes.
Programs: 1) management of advisory board composed of medical doctors, marketing outreach with collaterals on integrative health, fundraising, member management, content development and partnerships. Outreach to new england health providers and institutes through regular newsletters and collaterals. 2) launching of several new online resources: a. Access to the natural medicine database for professional providers b. Launching of an online book store on alternative medicine c. Information on 30 new modalities on wellnessleadership. Org d. Partnership with soulbeing for offering a new provider directory to our members 3) social media campaigns: facebook, twitter, linkedin, and youtube. Cwl provides regular updates to its social media pages, offering free content related to integrative medicine. 4) policy development: research policy, gift acceptance policy. Design of a new research program for 2018-2019 on ptsd and dementia and integrative health. 5) continuation of academic partnerships with university of southern maine, university of new england for symposium 2018. 6) continued participation in seminars and conferences both locally and nationally: boston integrative health conference (nyc - feb 2017), natural living expo (boston - oct 2017), mj biz (vegas - nov 2017), maine health (portland - nov 2017). 7) development online modality database of cwl. 8) development of website, creation of original content, and research to establish new content and partnerships, ie calendar, integrative medicine web directory, new modalities, blog articles, podcasts. 9) production of a tv show: "good health is weath". Broadcast on channel 5, and on new cwl youtube channel. 2017: production of pilot, plus first four shows. 10) development of marketing collateral: extensive marketing campaign was conducted for cwl to increase cwl membership. Cwl has doubled its number of members (209 active members in dec 2017). 11) new partnerships initiated with maine association of naturopathic doctors, maine cancer society, and several new england institutions. 12) production and preparation of the 2018 symposium: chronic pain & integrative health.
