venture activities:cal's venture activities staff provide consultation services, technical assistance, and professional development workshops to assist clients and language teachers worldwide in using the materials and assessments that cal and other publishers has developed. Cal's service activities primarily focus on improving educational opportunities for and the success of english language learners, adult education, bilingual and dual language education, immigrant integration, and international activities. Cal develops and distributes assessments of language proficiency in english as a second language and foreign languages at all educational levels. Cal produces and distributes a variety of materials including books, tests, training materials, research reports, self-access training materials, online courses, videos, and online publications.
mission enhancement activities: cal's mission enhancement activities (mea) program will house cal's internally funded projects and co-sponsored projects, primarily with foundations that serve its mission and require a cost-sharing component. Mea undertakes research, publication and event activities.
