Mission: Catherine kasper place, a ministry sponsored by the poor handmaids of jesus christ, provides programs, services, and opportunities that advance the integration of immigrants, refugees, and political asylees into the community of northeast indiana. Additionally, we strive to participate in strategic alliances that strengthen the network of information and resources available for the population served.
Programs: Job skills: catherine kasper place managed a federal office of refugee resettlement job development grant contract with ivy tech community college northeast and an affiliated organization, st. Joseph community health foundation, to create and provide specialized curriculum to train refugees and political asylees, enabling them to affordably enter college and earn their cna (certified nursing assistant) state certification. Curriculum combined traditional nursing instructions with additional tutoring in learning the english language and understanding expectations of the american culture and workplace.
