Mission: The Catalog raises funds and awareness on behalf of 18 thoroughly evaluated, high quality, fiscally sound Bay Area nonprofits directly serving disadvantaged children and youth. The Catalog conducted an extensive selection process in order to determine which 18 agencies to feature in The Catalog. The Catalog raises funds and awareness on behalf of the nonprofits in its publication. We are supported by each of the Bay Area community foundations as well as by a number of local foundations, corporations and individuals.
Programs: The Catalog for Giving-Bay Area pursues its mission by: Producing and distributing a print and electronic catalog to raise funds and awareness for the beneficiary organizations Conducting a comprehensive screening and selection process of agencies featured in the catalog. Encouraging donors to direct their gifts to credible, stable organizations in their own communities. Providing on-going monitoring of the featured agencies; technical assistance and training in fundraising and board development; accounting procedures; marketing and public relations; and administration—all in an effort to help increase the quantity and quality of the services delivered by these eighteen agencies. We work with small grassroots nonprofits, all of which have been granted 501(c)(3) status, none of whom have paid fundraising staff, nor are part of a national organization, and all have a budget between $25,000 and $1,000,000.
