Causes: Art Museums, Arts & Culture
Mission: Castaneda museum of ethnic costume is dedicated to the study and exhibition of the worlds ethnic and folk costume, thus hoping to cultivate an appreciation and respect for all the worlds peoples and cultures, as well as stimulate the publics interest in geography.
Programs: In 2016, the museum provided free textile & artifact identification services for the public. The museums exhibit, free to the public, at the arizona historical societys fremont house, downtown tucson, dealing with material cultures of selected arizona native tribes (tohono oodham, yaqui and yuma), with historic photographs of these people plus folk art paintings by a yaqui artist, continued through 2016, having opened in 2015.
