Causes: Military & Veterans Organizations, Veterans
Mission: We bring the world class cassatt string quartet (cassattquartet. Com) to west texas annually to inspire and work intensively with our students and our musical community through chamber music. We want to give students the vision of what can be accomplised by effective communication, responsibility to the group, respect for one another, and the intimate musical expression that chamber music provides.
Programs: We brought the manhattan based world class cassatt string quartet to west texas on two occassions, once in the fall of 2017 and once in the spring of 2018. During this time the quartet worked with many area music students for a week, coaching them on various aspects or orchestral and chamber music. These services were provided free to the participants. Performances were also held at various area venues during those weeks that were free and open to the public to experience the sounds of the world class cassatt string quartet.
