Mission: To organize and staff the annual mount pisgah arboretum in eugene, oregon; to provide undergraduate and graduate scholarships to mycology students; to organize monthly mycology speaker series at the amazon community center in eugene, oregon; to assist lane community college with mycology educational programs such as mushroom identification and microscopy classes, to organize regular mushrooms forays (field trip) in oregon to promote mycology education and awareness; to support mycology-related educational programming at elementary and middle schools in eugene, oregon; to provide grants and scientific expertise to support local mycoremediation projects (environmental cleanup projects that use fungi to concentrate and remove pollutants from the environment).
Programs: Organized and staffed with volunteers the annual mount pisgah arboretum mushroom festival in eugene, or (largest mushroom show on the us west coast); held 9 monthly speaker series meetings at the amazon community center in eugene, or on various fungi-related topics; issued one graduate-level mycology scholarship to an oregon state university student; organized fungi microscopy class at the lane community college, conducted 11 mushroom forays throughout the year to educate community members about fungi of the pacific northwest.
