Mission: Provide shelter for the homeless when no other shelter can be found and to provide supportive services to those experiencing homelessness in cumberland county, pennsylvania.
Programs: Provide emergency shelter to single adults experiencing homelessness in cumberland county, pennsylvania. Supportive services coordinators (aka case managers) are advocates for the homeless residents. They meet each week to help with goals and referrals. During 2017, provided 14,762 beds and served 364 unduplicated people. Sheltered 16 veterans and 26 elderly people.
provide emergency shelter to families experiencing homelessness in cumberland county, pennsylvania. Families receive the same services as individual residents. They are provided a place to sleep and case management. During 2017, sheltered 33 families including 48 children.
supportive and referral services & resources made available to those experiencing homelessness in cumberland county, pennsylvania to stay healthy, find housing, secure employment, etc. Basic essential service needs such as shower, laundry, mail, locker, wellness room and point of contact are provided. During 2017, placed 172 people into permanent or transitionalhousing. Provided access to facilities for residents to take 5,861 showers and do 4,140 loads of laundry.
cyberspace is a program for the low to moderate income housing community and carlisle cares (cares) residents to utilize computers and technology equipment. Computer and internet access aids in completion of things such as online job applications, resumes, housing searches and homework.
