Mission: The area clergy heard the need and desire of the community's aging population to stay in their own homes and postpone institutionalization. Joined by community leaders they established Caregivers an interfaith volunteer program. CVCJ helps frail elderly and homebound disabled who are at risk of institutionalization with daily activities that help them live at home with dignity. We accomplish this by developing, training and directing an interfaith network of volunteers. Maintaining seniors in their own homes helps defray the costs of long term care in this day of declining Medicare and Medicaid.
