The review from Huntington S. is patently false.
Of the more than $14M raised each year more than $11M goes directly to the various programs that they run.
There are thousands of kids and adults who partake in their programs yearly. Programs include summer camps, big-brother big-sister mentorships, after school programs, holiday retreats, weekend retreats, counseling and help for adults looking to find a marriage partner, tuition program that funds kids to go to school, and more.
A wonderful organization overall!!
Of the more than $14,000,000 raised each year, less than 2% of all funds raised actually goes to "help" anyone. Of the 2%, most of it goes to help pay tuition for students at a private, upscale private school in New York,

Misleading advertising. Copied their name from the original Cars for Kids which supports High Schools and uses meta-tags in Google advertising which leads potential donors to donate to their charity instead of the one intended.
When a company creates a similar name and then hides behind Google search engine terms using the name of Texans Can Academy, Dallas Can Academy, Houston Can Academy or even write off the car not the kid I think they are going beyond good advertising but are misleading donors.
I Have been fortunate to be connected with this organization over the past few years. I am constantly amazed at the thought and concern that goes into every program and event. it is evident the care and concern that Oorah has for each and every individual. Would highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to maximize the impact of their donations
Shady organization to deal with. They advertise heavily as helping kids, but don't mention that it is only jewish kids- which is fine, but I would prefer full disclosure in the ad.
Also, for the amount of expensive radio advertising they do, how much of their proceeds can actually go to the kids?
Their website doesn't list executive profiles.....huge red flag for a non-profit.

I have donated to Oorah a few times over the past years. this year i had the opportunity to spend time in their camp and was totally blown away by what I had seen. The love and warmth the Oorah families feel is ubelievable. I walked away with a greater appreciation of Oorah and happy that my dollars were donated to a worthwhile cause.
I am very familiar with the amazing work that this organization does. The help they do for those they are able to access is truly special and very much appreciated.
This is an excellent organization that truly loves every Jewish person - no matter what. They are giving, nurturing, appropriate, accepting, fun and give an excellent direction in life.
