Mission: The Cape Cod Stranding Network, Inc. was formed in 1998 by a group of like-minded non-profit organizations. These groups formed a loose coalition of volunteers who responded to mass strandings of dolphins and whales on Cape Cod. These organizations recognized the need for a full time staff to respond the large number of stranded dolphins, whales, porpoises and seal in this region. CCSN now focuses on providing care to all live stranded animals. All animals (both live and dead) are examined and key data are collected. CCSn strives to conduct research and education with the goals of reducing animal suffering and promoting species and habitat conservation.
