I started volunteering and fostering for CSR about a year ago. I am continually impressed with the professionalism, and tireless service from all of the individuals involved in this program. It is truly a labor of love. These dogs are taken in to our program and into the homes of the volunteers until they have been closely matched to their forever homes. Snafus have occurred, but only rarely. Many of our dogs have come from very sad situations. We are careful to access what is best for each dog and new family. Our goal is for a happy outcome for everyone. I have fostered six dogs so far, one being a foster fail and a permanent member of my home. All dogs are given top notch vetting, socialization, most of all, love.
Review from Guidestar
This dog rescue group is absolutely amazing! I have never met a group of volunteers so hardworking and committed to making a difference in the community. Each person involved loves their foster doggies, and makes decisions that they believe are best for the dogs and always put the dog's needs first. These volunteers are awesome!! Also, the current president has done so many great things for the group. She has increased group recognition in the community, which has helped to get so many more dogs adopted. She is truly wonderful, and does everything to ensure that the dogs are placed with the best home for their needs. I am so appreciative of everyone who volunteers with Canine Soulmates!!!
They may have been top rated in 2015, but I am telling everyone I know to avoid them like the plague while the current president is still there. Her actions and attitude are undermining all the hard work of this organization's volunteers.
After a week of bonding with their new puppy, they came and ripped him away from our neighbors, citing the fact that the family's other rescue dog did not have two UNREQUIRED shots. The family got their dog the two shots in question IMMEDIATELY, but that horrible woman has not only refused to return their dog, but has been rude, hateful and unprofessional in her dealings with this now devastated family. They have FOR NO GOOD REASON lost their beloved new pup, in addition to being out adoption fees and vet bills.
And to rub salt in the wound, the puppy has been relisted for adoption, USING A PICTURE MY FRIENDS HAD TAKEN of the puppy in their home!
Until this vile woman is removed from her position, I am urging everyone to find another rescue organization for your volunteer time, donations, and adoptions!!!!
The President of this company is completely irrational and a rude person to speak with. We took home a puppy, paid and signed for him. After a week she has an attitude and lying about us and has stated she is going to take the puppy from my family. My boys are young and have grown attached to the pup and so has our other furbaby. We did not get two shots that are unnecessary by the state AND our own vet. These were not explicitly verbalized or written in the contract. Despite getting said shots on a first thing in the morning walk in visit and a vet's note of health and well being, she has not budged on this.
We enjoyed our initial greeting with the other volunteers and board members we talked with. It is a shame that a rescue can have such amazing people working there, but run by someone without compassion for the well being of the families they work with.
Despite having jumped through hoops, nothing is deemed good enough. Not even a stable, loving environment that a puppy can blossom into the wonderful dog he can be. Wrong is WRONG.
As the other reviews stated there was one volunteer (named no less than four times in other reviews) who pours her heart and soul into her job, and I pray that the interactions with this President do not keep her from the amazing work she is doing. It is obvious when someone has the best interest of animals at heart, and more so those that DO NOT.
Think twice before dealing with the President of this company as of 2016.
As an ongoing donor to CSR, I have first hand knowledge of how much time and energy the volunteers put into their work. I believe they are doing God's work by helping those most in need find a better life, and the dogs they rescue bring joy and happiness to their new families. Debby Valdiviez is The Bomb. Thank you to her and the entire CSR team for making the world a better place. Fred
My friend Debby Valdiviez puts her time, heart and soul into Canine soulmates rescue... Sometimes the biggest love comes from the ones that no one wants, something that Debby knows, and she takes extra special care not to give up on them and works tirelessly to find lucky people to get these blessings... I love this organization and Debby for having the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. Thank you Debby and CSR for spreading love everywhere you go ❤️
I have had a wonderful experience with Canine Soulmates. From the day I saw the pictures to the time I went to pick my puppy up, Ive been treated with kindness and care. Our family is so happy with our new addition! His foster mom, Debby, was so welcoming, helpful and I consider her a friend now. It's obvious everyone involved in CSM absolutely loves animals whole heartedly and that makes a difference!
We had such a positive experience adopting our pup from CSR. The foster mom, Debby Valdiviez, is so caring and open. She provided lots of pictures and updates while we waited for our pup to be old enough to leave mama. Anyone willing to take on a pregnant stray and then care for her and her 8 puppies is a saint! We love our Hazelnut and feel so good about helping CSR in the process. Thank you for the work you do!
CSR operates based on three core tenants. Integrity, service before self, and excellence in all they do. As a self professed animal lover, I am humbled by the work they do on a daily basis; opening up their heart and homes for these precious creatures. They literally save countless nunber of these "soulmates" whose fates would otherwise be uncertain. The organization is managed with the utmost integrity and ethics. The care and medical services that are rendered to these animals is done with the highest degree of excellence, and the personal sacrifice they make to foster and care for these animals is the embodiment of service before self. Thank-you for helping so many animals and families find their soulmates!
My name is Jack and my mom fosters for Canine Soulmates Rescue She is very busy having 5 kids and managing soccer teams as well but still takes in dogs and they are family to us. She socializes them, we all love on them and help them find their forever homes. I'm proud of her for giving unconditional love to dogs that need it. When i grow up, I will donate money to CSR because they are awesome.
My husband and I have fostered with CSR for several years. All of the dogs are fostered in homes so we know a lot about the dogs and can work to find the perfect match for each family. For this rescue, it's all about the dogs and the volunteers work hard to keep it that way. We want each dog to have its best life and work toward that end with our vetting process, in-home socialization and some training as needed. We cry as we let one go to its new home, but know there is always another dog in need. I wouldn't trade my time fostering with this group for anything! And just so you know, when you foster to save a dog, you will be surprised by your personal growth. That growth may look different for each person, but you will change for the better!
Mikey came to us from this organization. I was so pleased with Debby, his foster mom. She took such good care of him and his siblings. She worked tirelessly to help Honey deliver her pups. Mikey is the result of that loving touch. Mikey is a pug mix puppy and has really settled in well with my other two dogs. He is as happy and tail wagging as can be. Thanks, Debby, for working with us on the adoption. Thank you to the other volunteers, as well.
Please donate today or adopt a dog that is in need of a family from this fantastic organization..
Great orginaztion that helps find forever homes for sweet dogs. Volunteers are awesome and super helpful!!! Two thumbs up
We adopted our little Lhasa/ Shitzu mix, Barkley, 7 years ago and were so impressed by their dedication, thoroughness, and professionalism that we became volunteers and help out wherever and whenever we can. Each association member that I have met is focused and generous in their efforts to help our canine soulmates.
I am a foster for Canine Soulmates Rescue and I'm so proud to be a volunteer ❤️ It's a well organized, no kill foster program and we have some amazing people working with us. I recently became a foster w Honey who delivered some beautiful pups. I now have Honey and Maggie. Being able to foster them at my home helps socialize them and get them comfortable w kids (I have 5) as well as socialize my fosters with my 3 dogs so they are ready to go to their forever home happy, socialized and knowing what love is. ❤️
CSR has completed our family yet again. We have adopted two amazing dogs from them. What this group does is second to none. They are a collection of rare souls who have the biggest hearts on the planet. Kudos to you CSR. Thanks for everything you do!
Canine Soulmates helped us complete what is now our puppy family! They are completely amazing and work so hard to find the fur babies their forever homes!
CSR is a fantastic rescue and nonprofit. They are dedicated to the animals and the families. Every dime they raise is transparently accounted for and poured into the health of the dogs. They stay connected to the families that rescue and strive to be a continued resource of good information. I love the work they do, the people that dedicate themselves to the animals and the network of vets they work with. This is a nonprofit worth acknowledging for their commitment to their calling.
I am presently serving on the Board for Canine Soulmates Rescue. I began as a volunteer, fostering for Canine Soulmates and we quickly became a foster fail -- meaning we adopted one of our foster dogs! We fell in love with our dog, Ranger, who is a Morkie. After many other foster dogs, we have since adopted another foster, Ruby, a cocker spaniel. We love fostering for Canine Soulmates Rescue and our entire family has wholeheartedly embraced this organization. We enjoy fostering, volunteering with the group and love the satisfaction of knowing that the dogs we have rescued are going to loving families. As a board member, I take pride in ensuring that Canine Soulmates Rescue (CSR) is a well run non-profit, despite being organized and run by all volunteers. We do our utmost to ensure that we provide quality services to our dogs, pups and to those families -- while keeping our costs low, so that the adoption donation is very reasonable. CSR is a great group -- for adopters and volunteers alike!
