Mission: Canine partners of the rockies (capr) enables coloradans with disabilities to lead more independent and gratifying lives partnering them with highly skilled assistance dogs that also provide unconditional love and tail- wagging enthusiasm.
Programs: As of december 31 2014, canine partners of the rockies had 15 active service partnerships. We received over 70 applications for assitance dogs. We had 13 dogs in training; two of which were in advanced training with professional trainers. We placed one facility service dog with a professional who works with children on the austism spectrum. We supported and remedially trained post one year partnerships. We arranged speaking and demonstration engagements to educate the public about the role of assitance dogs in the lives of people with disabilities. These engagements reached close to 2,500 people of all ages from kindergarteners to seniors.
