Mission: In november 2012 this organization suspended operations. Prior to the suspension, this organization's primary purpose was to further the common interest of its members and of the ocean liner carrier industry in fostering and serving foreign commerce with the approval of the federal maritime commission. Cwtsa performed record keeping and filing and kept minutes on behalf of its members, who are engaged principally in the transportation of cargo.
Programs: As filed with the canadian transportation agency in accordancee with the shipping conferences exemption act, 1987, as amended, the members of cwtsa formally approved, effective november 1, 2012, that all cwtsa activities are temporarily suspended and that all cwtsa tariff guidelines, rates , charges and rules shall expire as of that date. The suspension will remain in effect indefinitely until such time as the members decide to reactivate the agreement.
