Mission: Governed by a statewide board of directors, the california space authority (csa) is a nonprofit corporation representing the commercial, civil, and national defense/homeland security interests of california's diverse space enterprise community in all four domains: industry, government, academia, and workforce. Designated as california's spaceport authority, csa is member-based "enterprise" association working closely with stakeholders statewide to facilitate california's competitiveness and space enterprise vitality.
Programs: Federal workforce innovation in regional economic development (wired) grant to encourage innovation in classroom, business, scientific circles and government affecting america's capacity to remain a global leader in new ideas, inventions and services.
industry development events funded by membership dues and sponsorships, which enable csa to promote california's space economy and to attract and retain global space customers and businesses.
early development of a california space center, a multi-faceted, multi-year project that will inspire young people with space, science, math, and engineering educational activities and offer space-related facilities, entertainment and cultural exhibits. The center will also educate the public regarding space enterprise. This project touches three key elements: history, cultural and natual resources, and education.
