Mission: To establish and operate a museum and cultural center designed to provide educational benefits to the general public and to acquire, preserve, study, interpret and exhibit artifacts of outstanding importance on the history and heritage of the indigenous peoples of California.
Programs: Education program publishes annual newsletters informing the public of museum events, performances, new exhibits, and monthly lectures. Education program also develops on-going distance learning and outreach to youth organizations in the surrounding communities to provide pomo language preservation events, filming and gathering oral histories. Education program produces educational products for public k-12, youth and educators and american indians. Products include, but are not limited to, website, newsletter, lectures, presentation curricula distance learning, digital videos and audio resources.
pomo language preservation program promotes the development of pomo language repository resources and curricula development to support revitalization and life-long learning.
