Mission: The california health care coalition is a membership organization of private and public sector employers, unions, and health & welfare trust funds determined to improve healthcare quality, save lives, and control costs without losing benefits.
Programs: The chcc continued its efforts to provide education to its membership on concepts for improvement in terms of quality and appropriateness of medical care, and methods for lowering medical costs. The chcc gathered information to provide this education in the following manner:-maintained a seat on the cal hospital compare (formally chart) board of directors which develops quality measurements for rating and comparing california hospital services. -participation in the purchaser's forum (a conglomeration of purchasers, plan attorneys and professionals), which addresses purchaser related matters such as health plan and health system agreements and issues pertinent to purchasers seeking improvements in the quality and appropriateness of medical care expected to deliver better medical outcomes as a means of controlling overall health care costs.
